2026 Events

SD Girls in STEAM recently organized a campus visit to the UC San Diego Department of Chemical and Nano Engineering for students from CASA de Amistad. Participants explored several research facilities, including the Fenning Lab, EnVision Makerspace, DIB Makerspace, and the Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Lab. They also attended a panel discussion with undergraduate and graduate students, gaining valuable insights into engineering majors, research opportunities, and student life at UC San Diego.

The tour gave CASA de Amistad students a firsthand look at how scientific research is translated into real-world innovation while encouraging them to explore future educational and career opportunities in STEM. We sincerely thank the UC San Diego faculty, staff, and student ambassadors for hosting such an engaging and inspiring experience.
